January 2011

www.gocrossway.org

January 1 – Pray for the first day of the year, that we will remain aware of God’s challenge to be engaged in the Great Commission and sharing the gospel of God’s wonderful grace.

January 2 – Pray for Bruce McIntosh, our Member Care Director, as he becomes more and more involved in our ministry both to our home staff and other missionaries, and also to those overseas. And pray for his mission trip with our team to Nicaragua on Jan. 25.

January 3 – Pray for Robert and Ann Messier as they organize our team for this upcoming trip to Nicaragua on Jan. 25 and for their prayer and support needs as missionaries.

January 4 – Pray for Bob Nicol, our Engineer/Missionary who successfully oversaw our first water well with our new rig last November in Kenya and his prayer and support needs. He has made a number of sacrifices to see this first well get drilled.

January 5 – Pray for Merle Admire, our Master Electrician/Missionary, as he will be heading up the research and development of our water well drilling ministry in Central America, as well as some involvement in Africa, too.  Please keep his prayer and support needs before the Lord.

January 6- Pray for our Water Well Committee meeting as we make decisions on where to drill the next well and various procedural issues.

January 7 – Pray for the follow-up on all our efforts to help the hurting, that we might be able to use all these wells and various projects to gain a hearing for the gospel of God’s grace and see many come to faith in Christ alone.

January 8 – Pray for Dean as he heads off to the heartland of the USA, Kansas, and visits two of our supporting churches and many friends.

January 9 – Pray for the vote on the Referendum in Sudan as southern Sudan officially splits from northern Sudan. We have already seen a lot of violence surrounding this vote.  Pray too for Dean as he visits (in Kansas) and shares the great things the Lord is doing through CrossWay International and our other missionaries.

January 10 – Pray for Dean as he returns from Kansas and for opportunities to share his faith with others in the airports and on the planes.

January 11 – Pray for Ken Gatithi, the Manager of our water well drilling ministry in Kenya, as he helps us with the logistics and accounting.  Also, pray that his recent bout with malaria will not create further health issues for him.

January 12 – Pray for our 549 orphans in Sudan near Darfur and that the violence over the vote on the referendum to split off southern Sudan from the north will subside enough to send in two of our coworkers.

January 13 – Pray for Francisco Caldera, our Nicaraguan Field Director, as he works hard to organize events for our team which arrives on January 25. Pray, too, for his prayer and support needs.

January 14 – Pray for Rafael Rivas, our Central America Field Director, as he works with Francisco and helps to line up pastors for our conference and discuss with us future plans and how we might work more closely with believers in this region.

January 15 – Pray for greater boldness for all our coworkers who are busy in God’s harvest field. Pray also that we might strengthen the food production of our actual harvest in the village where our orphans reside.  We have around 150 hectare available for crops, such as sorghum and beans.

January 16 – Pray for Malcolm Harris in Liberia and for a possible visit from Dean.

January 17 – Pray for Lawson Sampson in Nigeria and his church and his soccer team he uses for evangelism.

January 18 – Pray that many might use our CrossWay Gift Cube as a means of sharing the gospel of God’s grace in such a way that God’s free gift offer through faith for salvation cannot be misunderstood.

January 19 – Pray for more workers in God’s harvest field as our ministry continues to expand.

January 20 – Pray for our management team in Sudan who look after our 549 orphans: 2 managers, 10 teachers, 1 Head Master, 2 guards, 2 cleaning ladies, and 2 cooks. Pray that we might be able to get them into a position to stand on their own in perhaps another two years.

January 21 – Pray for the income-generating projects we are setting up in Sudan: growing their own crops/food, raising their own livestock, and the income generated from the use of a pickup truck.

January 22 – Pray for the discussions we are having with the Ethiopian Christian Fellowship of Doctors to assist us with the needs of our new Medical Clinic in Meki, Ethiopia. Pray for a full-time nurse and more meds and equipment.  Pray also for a young lady who is giving prayer and thought to being more involved to help us in this project.

January 23- Pray for more opportunities to share our faith with others and for more countries for Dean to visit for this purpose (such as Djibouti in March).

January 24 – Pray for our whole staff in the USA who serve faithfully and with one spirit and purpose.

January 25 – Pray for Dean and team of 8 who are leaving for Nicaragua to minister from January 25-31.

January 26 – Pray for the start of our Pastor’s Conference in Nicaragua and for the rest of our team to visit University classes and other schools in Managua. Pray that we might be fruitful.

January 27 – Pray for Merle Admire as he researches the cost and possibilities of drilling two water wells in this needy country of Nicaragua.

January 28 – Pray for part of our team that will be in Matagalpa, northern part of Nicaragua, as they visit schools and share their faith with the kids. Bruce McIntosh and Robert Messier will also be preaching and teaching and teaching pastors.

January 29 – Pray for the ongoing Pastor’s Conference in the Managua area of Nicaragua, and that the attending pastors will be challenged and edified.

January 30 – Pray for the last full day in Nicaragua for our team of 8 Americans, that we will leave a lasting impression of love and goodwill with all those we had a chance to minister to and to lead to faith in Christ.

January 31 – Pray for the safe return of our whole team from our time in Nicaragua and that no one contracts malaria or other things.
