Prayer Calendar for Dean and Joan Chollar and Crossway International
August 2010
www.gocrossway.org

No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he
requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with
your God.
–Micah 6:8, NLT

August 1– Pray for Dean as he will be preaching in Stanwood, Washington in
the church where Jason, his son, serves as the Worship Pastor. Pray that
hearts will be challenged.

August 2 – Pray for Dean as he returns from Washington, and that God might
bring him in to contact with someone who needs Christ.

August 3 – Pray for Bob Nicol, our Engineer for our new branch ministry
within CrossWay International, the CrossWay Water for Life (water well
drilling ministry). We are looking to the Lord for his personal support and
costs for such things as traveling to Kenya to receive our new drilling rig
which is being shipped in a large container. Also, we have around $55,000
of the needed $65,000 to complete Phase One of this ministry. The $10,000
lacking is for shipping costs, some other equipment, and materials and set
up costs in Kenya. (To read more about this ministry, please go to
http://gocrossway.org/whatsnew/crossway-water-for-life/

August 4 – Continue to pray for our 549 orphans in Sudan. The 15 which had
malaria have all recovered, and support for their food supply is drawing
down. But they are now harvesting some of their own food which they have
grown.

August 5 – Pray for Merle Admire, our Master Electrician, who is working
with our water well drilling ministry as he considers focusing a bit more in
Central America. (See prayer request on Aug. 10, too)

August 6 – Pray for greater boldness for each of us as we have opportunity
to share the free gift of salvation through faith in Christ alone.

August 7 – Pray for Bruce McIntosh; he is looking to the Lord for His
guidance and support to serve as a missionary with us and serve as a
Christian Counselor and teacher at our Pastors’ Conferences.

August 8 – Pray for Rafa Rivas, our Field Director for Central America, and
the critical role he has in our ministry in setting up pastors’ conferences
and evangelistic efforts. Pray too for his support needs, as he is a
faith-based missionary… as are all with CrossWay International.

August 9 — Pray for Francisco Caldera, whom we hope to appoint as our
Nicaragua Field Director to work with Rafa Rivas, our Central America Field
Director. He would assist Rafa in setting up evangelistic efforts and head
up our water well drilling ministry there.

August 10 – 16 – Pray for Dean and the mission trip to Nicaragua with 3
pastors and Merle Admire. We will be conducting a pastors’ conference and
researching other evangelistic possibilities, as well as opportunities for
some water well drilling in this area. Rafa and Francisco will be assisting
us.

August 17 – Pray for more laborers for our evangelistic work in the various
countries in which we are active. The Harvest is great but the laborers are
few.

August 18 – Pray for our coworkers in Sudan who care for our 549 orphans:
Managers, Pastors Samuel and Moses; 10 teachers for our school; Committee of
5 who oversee the funds, and the cleaning ladies and guards.

August 19 – Pray for the physical harvest of crops in Sudan to help feed the
orphans this year and that they might be able to assume more and more
responsibility as we make efforts to move them to a self-sustaining
position. Pray for the spiritual harvest as well.

August 20 – Pray for more opportunities for each one of us to share the
gospel of God’s grace and the free gift of eternal life through trusting in
Christ alone.

August 21 – Pray for Ken Gatithi, our manager of our ministry in Kenya who
is overseeing the development of our water well drilling ministry in
northeast Africa. His wife, Winnie, is expecting in a few months, so he has
his plate full!

August 22 – Pray for Dean as he preaches at NW Church in San Antonio and
challenges hearts for missions and evangelism.

August 23 – Pray for Geoffrey Ndungu, our superintendent of the field work
of drilling water wells in Kenya and surrounding countries. He recently lost
his wife and has two teenage kids.

August 24 – Pray for our NGO status in Kenya so we might legally function in
this country and possibly get tax-exempt privileges to help us do even more
for the Lord’s work.

August 25 – Pray for Sherry Zule, the manager over our CrossWay Coffee
Ministry. She works very hard to help us raise awareness for our ministry
needs, especially for the needs of the orphans, and looks to the Lord to
raise up the needed funds. This ministry continues to provide a large
portion of this need for our orphans. Thank you to all who order our coffee
(www.crosswaycoffee.org

August 26 – Pray for our many supporting churches and for our many prayer
partners who give generously to keep us moving forward. We make a great team
and couldn’t do what God allows us to do without this team work.

August 27 – Pray for the clarity of the gospel, that we who trust in Christ
might clearly convey the gospel, the fact that all our sins are freely
forgiven when one puts their trust in Christ alone, who died for our sins
and rose again.

August 28 – Pray for the various pastors’ conferences on the drawing board
for the coming year, which we hope to develop alongside of our evangelistic
outreach events.

August 29 – Pray for Fernando Diaz and his work in Spain and Central America
and how we might work more effectively together in the coming year.

August 30 – Pray for the spreading of the gospel and the safety of those who
take the gospel into difficult and hostile areas of the world.

August 31 – Pray for someone you know right now who needs to hear the
message of God’s love and grace and how God might use you as an instrument
in His hand.

Prayer Calendar for Dean and Joan Chollar and Team
CrossWay International
July 2010
www.gocrossway.org

Special Note: We had a great mission trip to Nicaragua last June with the 8
of us who went. You will read some more prayer requests below so let’s
follow up on these needed prayers. Also, I was very sick just before I was
to leave for a second mission trip in June to Guyana. Please pray for the 18
others who went without me.

July 1 – Pray for the 131 individuals who put their trust in Christ for the
forgiveness of their sins on our recent mission trip to Nicaragua. We had a
great time and worked really well together having one mind, being in one
spirit and purpose.

July 2 – Pray for our 549 orphans in Sudan as the past election in southern
Sudan has disrupted some things as well as some internal issues with our
management team in the field. Also, 15 of our orphans have contracted
malaria, which is a killer. Pray for the support needed for more meds.

On this date, Joan also returns from Montana after visiting Rachel and
Jeremy and 4 of our granddaughters.

July 3- Pray for Bob Nicol and Merle Admire as they continue to develop our
new division (CrossWay Water for Life) and the shipping of the new water
well rig which should be leaving the Houston port soon. Pray that it gets
there safely and that we can cut through all the red tape and corruption
often associated with importing such equipment.

July 4- Pray for Dean as he preaches at Pipe Creek Community Church and
challenges hearts to bring others into the freedom we have in Christ.

July 5 – Pray for Kyle Parsons who is in Ethiopia and working with our
Northeast Africa Field Director. He has been there since June 1 and should
be home by July 15.

July 6 – Bob Nicol has been invited to go to Peru with Engineers Without
Borders. Pray for this upcoming trip from July 6 – 13.

July 7 – Pray for the upcoming mission trip with Dean and 3 other pastors to
Nicaragua for another pastors conference on August 10 – 16. This field in
Central America is starting to open up for us and we see some very good
potential for future ministry. We hope to take Merle Admire with us to check
out water well ministry.

July 8 – Pray for our Spanish speaking areas and personnel. We want to
better organize our Central America Ministry: Field Director (Rafael
Rivas), our Spain coworker (Fernando Diaz) and another candidate (Francisco
Cadera). They all face prayer and support needs to move things forward in
this field of ministry.

July 9 – Pray for parents with children who have special needs. 80 percent
of couples who have children with special needs end up in divorce due to the
huge pressure this puts them under. 3 of our coworkers fit in this category,
and I know they would really appreciate your prayers.

July 10 – Pray for Sherry Zule, our manager over the CrossWay Coffee
Ministry. This ministry provides a large percentage of the support needs
for our 549 orphans in Sudan to help provide food, medicine and needs.
(Check out www.crosswaycoffee.org.

July 11 – Pray for the rest of our staff in the USA: Joan, our office
manager; Robert our General Manager; Anna, our Executive Assistant; Rita,
our accountant, and Dean, the CEO. Pray that we will always maintain a good
team spirit as in the past.

July 12 – Pray for greater boldness on the part of all of us to share the
message of God’s grace and salvation that He provides through simple faith
in Christ.

July 13 – Pray for Dean’s speaking engagements as he lines up his travel
schedule for the coming months.

July 14 – Pray for our new Board of Directors in the USA. We have 12
Directors now and a good spirit of unity and purpose.

July 15 – Pray for more workers in God’s harvest field, especially for Kenya
and Nicaragua as we begin to concentrate more and more in these two
countries.

July 16 – Pray for more opportunities for each one of us to share the gospel
that God brings into our circle of influence.

July 17 – Pray for the farming going on in the village in Sudan where our
549 orphans reside. We have sponsored two men to teach and train the
villagers to begin to grow their own food and get on their own feet.

July 18 – Pray for our medical clinics in both Sudan and Ethiopia that we
might strengthen their capacity to serve the people in their community so
that people might see their good deeds and praise their father in heaven.

July 19 – Pray that we as believers might unlearn some of the churchy
phrases that unintentionally obscure the gospel. May we all learn to use the
predominant phrase in the New Testament and ask people to trust in Christ
alone who died for their sins and rose from the dead.

July 20 – Please pray for our efforts to set up the Board of Directors for
the CrossWay International Kenya ministry. We have some legal issues to work
through on this, and we want to make sure the right people are appointed.

July 21 – Pray for our non-profit/tax-exempt status for this Board mentioned
above so that we can get our drilling rig and equipment into Kenya without a
lot of tax and problems. We have two Ministers of Parliament in Kenya who
are offering to help.

July 22 – Pray for the spreading of the gospel that it might spread swiftly
and that it might be honored just as it is among us.

July 23 – Pray for school supplies for our school in Sudan and also for the
Christian School in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Rich Mann is collecting school
supplies and Bibles for us to take into Nicaragua on August 10. If you can
help and get them to me by August 8, I can pack them up and carry these in
when I go to teach a Pastors Conference. We need Spanish Bibles, writing
pads, pens and pencils, etc.

July 24 – Pray for Melaku Abebe, our Northeast Africa Field Director, and
all that he is overseeing from the Medical Clinic, to the school to training
and assisting others in the ministry.

July 25 – Pray for Geoffrey Ndungu, the newly appointed superintendent of
our well drilling team in Kenya. He lost his wife last month to a sudden
disease and has two teenage kids. In spite of this, he has worked tirelessly
to help prepare the way for the new well drilling ministry in Kenya.

July 26 – Pray for the safety of our new drilling team in Kenya. As you may
remember, Bob Nicol lost his finger tip when practicing here in Texas with
the rig. It can be a dangerous job for fingers.

July 27 – Pray, too, for the safety of those who risk their life to share
the gospel of God’s grace overseas. Not all men are of faith and we face
some real hostility sometimes.

July 28 – Robert Messier, our General Manager, leaves for Delaware to
represent CrossWay International at Jubilee Fest, a special festival with
Christian musicians and events. Bob Payton, our coworker at one of our
supporting churches in Maryland, is lining all this up. Pray for a fruitful
trip and that he can help raise awareness for our ministry.

July 29 – Pray for wisdom on how best to deal with some of the false
teachings overseas such as the “prosperity teaching” and so forth. These
extreme teachings tear up churches and do a great deal of harm.

July 30 – Pray for Dean who leaves for Seattle to preach at a supporting
church and visit his son Jason and family.

July 31 – Stop right now and pray for someone you know who does not yet know
the full forgiveness of their sins through simple trust in Jesus Christ.
Pray how you might be able to befriend them and share your testimony with
them.

June 2010 Prayer Calendar

Prayer Calendar for CrossWay International
For Dean and Joan Chollar and Team
http://gocrossway.org

Special thanks and prayer requests:
Thanks for all your prayers and please pray especially for our kids. Several
of them are facing some hard times as young adults.
Also pray for Bob Nicol and Merle Admire as they drill a test water well
with our new drilling rig in a few days. They plan to pick it up on May 24.
We hope to send the rig over in June in a container.
June 1 – 8 – Dean leaves for a pastors’ conference in Nicaragua with a
small team of around 8 people. Please pray for safe travel and a good time
to build up the body of believers in the area of Matagalpa. Pray too for
Rafael Rivas, our coworker who is newlywed (May 22) and for his support
needs as he goes out in faith trusting God to undergird his work and
ministry with CrossWay International as one of our key Field Directors.
Dean, Rafael, Allen Mann, and Robert Messier will be teaching a pastors
conference and the others will be leading a children’s ministry.
Also, check out our newest prayer letter:
http://gocrossway.org/2010/05/may-2010-crossway-prayer-letter-water-its-not-
just-for-drinking/
Also, we need a lot of power and hand tools to go along with this rig. If
you have any, please let us know.
See the list here:

http://gocrossway.org/whatsnew/crossway-water-for-life/combined-tool-list-2/

June 9 – Pray for Bob Nicol, our newest addition to our missionary team as
he lines up the details of packing a container to ship to Kenya. Bob is
heading up our new division along with Merle Admire, CrossWay Water for
Life, and is shipping our new drilling rig with all its pipe and
attachments. He plans to go himself in July to receive this container and
set up our drilling team to help provide not only clean safe drinking water
but the message of the Living Water Himself.
June 10 – Pray for Dean’s speaking engagements as he lines up his fall and
winter schedule. Let him know of any opportunities to challenge folks to
walk by faith and not by sight.
June 11 – Pray for our staff in the USA as we handle these many projects and
stay focused on keeping the gospel first and foremost.
June 12 – Keep our support needs in your prayers as many of our prayer
partners are designating donations for project which puts our general
account under some pressure. Pray that we might continue to keep our boat
upright as we move forward with faith in God.
June 13 – Pray for our many volunteer and supported coworkers around the
world who assist us in these many projects we are undertaking to use as a
platform for sharing the gospel.
June 14 – Pray for the various positions open in CrossWay International:
Apprentices for Dean, Manager over our clinics in Ethiopia and Sudan,
agriculture experts and teachers for our schools.
June 15 – Pray for the various translations of evangelistic materials and
messages into various languages.
June 16 – Pray for Dean and Joan’s grandson, Aaron, who suffers from severe
autism and is not getting the care he truly needs in his present school
system in the Stanwood, Washington area.
June 17 – Pray for 200 other orphans in Sudan who live not far off from the
549 orphans that we are presently helping. I got word last week that one of
the 200 died from malnutrition. We would like to help but our 549 are all we
can help at this time.
June 18 – Pray for greater boldness and faith when it comes to sharing the
gospel of Christ as there is no greater miracle than seeing one pass from
death to life. (John 5:24)
June 19 – 29 – Pray for Dean as he heads off for another pastors conference,
this time in Guyana with one of our supporting churches. Dean will be
preaching at a church in Georgetown and then moving on to the pastors’
conference in the Berbice region. Pray for his strength as travel takes a
toll on his aging body!
June 30 – Pray for someone you know today who needs to hear the gospel. The
only Bible some may read is your own life and effort of God to reach them

Prayer Calendar for CrossWay International
Dean and Joan Chollar
www.gocrossway.org

May 1 – Pray that the Lord might provide some new or used laptops for our
coworkers in Guyana and Nicaragua, as I will be making a number of trips
there this summer and these kinds of items are really useful to them.

May 2 – Pray that the Lord will raise up the needed funds to purchase the
water well drilling rig, and that Bob Nicol and Merle Admire might have the
time to practice at least one well in Texas before we ship it to Northeast
Africa. For a musical picture display, go to www.gocrossway.org and check
out the “What’s New” Tab.

May 3 – Pray for Dean as he speaks at an Emmaus group in the Hill Country of
Texas and challenges them to work more closely with our ministry.

May 4 – Pray for both Bob Nicol and Merle Admire as they speak at various
locations to raise awareness for the needs in our new division within
CrossWay International, the CrossWay Water for Life Ministry.

May 5 – Pray for the various matching gifts that have been offered for our
water well drilling ministry and that they might be fully funded. The first
phase of this effort will run around $65,000 for the rig, shipping, truck,
and associated costs. We have about 1/3 of this needed amount.

May 6 – Pray for our coworkers in Ethiopia: Melaku, who serves as our NE
Africa Field Director and those he oversees in the Medical Clinic and the
English School for Evangelism and the house churches.

May 7 – Pray for our 549 orphans, as the account for them is getting low
from which we send in money for food, clothes, and management costs.

May 8 – Pray for our Board of Directors meeting for CrossWay International,
as we hope to install 7 more Directors to make up for the 3 who left
recently. Several will be coming from out of town, so pray for safety for
them and that they won’t miss their connecting flights.

May 9 – Mother’s Day. Pray for all the mothers of the world and the hand
that rocks the cradle.

May 10 – Pray for our Committee overseeing the needs of the 549 orphans in
Sudan near Darfur, as violence has erupted near them due to the elections in
Sudan.

May 11 – Pray for the harvest of the crops in the village where our orphans
live, as our first crop should come in soon. Pray that it might be a
bountiful harvest!

May 12 – Pray for wisdom as we make decisions on where to drill our water
wells in the coming months once we get things in place in NE Africa.

May 13 – Pray for the upcoming mission trip to Nicaragua with a team of
people, and for Rafa Rivas, our coworker, who is setting up the pastors’
conference and VBS ministries for our team.

May 14 – Pray for Dean as he leaves for the greater Seattle area to visit
his son and his family.

May 15 – Pray for Dean as he speaks at a special men’s Bible study in
Stanwood, Washington with Joshua Flickner who heads up this ministry.

May 16 – Pray for Dean as he preaches and challenges hearts to exercise a
moment by moment faith in God and to walk by faith and not by sight. Then
pray for Dean as he catches a red eye flight back to Texas at 11:45 PM that
night.

May 17 – Pray for our school in Sudan where we have 5 classes with 110 kids
in each class. We could use more blackboards, books, and school supplies.

May 18 – Pray for Bruce McIntosh, a candidate missionary who is trained in
counseling, which is sorely needed overseas. Pray that God might raise up
his support for this needed work, as he has many requests for his services
in counseling.

May 19 – Pray for Dean’s schedule trip to Guyana in June to teach at a
pastors’ conference with a supporting church, and for the coworkers we have
in that country, John Persaud and Michael Williams.

May 20 – Pray that the Lord will raise up additional funds for the medicine
needed in our two clinics: one in Ethiopia and the other in Sudan. This is
an ongoing battle to keep the right kind and enough medicine to treat the
various issues that come up, such as Cholera, diarrhea, and malaria.

May 21 – Pray for the needed personnel to run the drilling rig in NE Africa.
We have had a number of interviews and need your prayers that the right men
might be chosen.

May 22 – Pray for Rafa Rivas as he marries this day and begins his new life
with Darling, his fiancée. As soon as they get back from their honey moon,
he receives our team on June 1.

May 23 – Pray for the various groups who are raising awareness for the needs
of the orphans in many different cities and churches in the USA.

May 24 – Pray that more people might go to our website
www.crosswayorphans.org and sign up to pray for and sponsor one of our
orphans in Sudan.

May 25 – Keep on praying that God might raise up a few young men to come
along side and assist Dean in the work load he has. Dean is not getting any
younger!

May 26 – Pray for our USA staff as they work hard to keep things moving
forward in handling the accounting, graphic work for prayer letters, and
power points, etc.

May 27 – Pray for our other coworkers in Nigeria and Liberia and for an
opportunity to visit them in the coming year.

May 28 – Pray for all of our CrossWay Coffee Ambassadors and the key role
they play in helping us provide funds– especially for the food for the
orphans. Every bag that is ordered pays for enough food to feed one orphan
for one entire month.

May 29 – Pray for you, our prayer partners and our many churches that give
sacrificially to sustain our ministry and keep us moving forward in service
to God and the lost.

May 30 – Pray for greater boldness in sharing our faith with others, and
that we might make very clear that our salvation is a free gift through
faith alone in Jesus Christ who died for our sins and rose from the dead.

May 31 – Memorial Day – Pray for all our military and the dangers they face
to keep us free. Pray that our government doesn’t take away this freedom
through poor decisions.

April 1 – Dean will be on his trip to Kenya from March 30 – April 9. Pray
for Dean as he meets with the CrossWay Sudan Board of Directors in Nairobi,
Kenya. Also, Bob Nicol, our Engineer, and Merle Admire, our Master
Electrician, arrive in Nairobi, Kenya on this date.

April 2 – Pray for us three (Dean, Bob and Merle) as we travel up north to
Moffat Bible College in the Rift Valley area to interview workers for our
new division, CrossWay Water for Life.

April 3 – Dean and Bobb head off to Mombasa, Kenya to work and hold a
Pastors Conference with 150 pastors and hold some evangelistic events with
Chris Moore. We recently drilled a well on Chris Moore’s church compound
that serves thousands of people with free clean drinking water and the
Living Water Himself. Merle heads off from Nairobi to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
to check on our Medical Clinic in Meki.

April 4 – Pray for Dean as he preaches on Easter Sunday and proclaims the
resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is alive!

April 5 – Pray that God will raise up the needed funds to finish the
fabrication of our drilling rig which we plan to send to Kenya in June. We
have a ways to go, as it will cost around $65,000 to get this division of
CrossWay International up and running with our own rig, truck, equipment and
crew.

April 6 – Keep our U.S. staff in your prayers: Joan, the Office Manager;
Anna, the Executive Assistant; Robert, the General Manager; Sherry, the
Manager of CrossWay Coffee Ministry and Rita, the accountant. Maybe Dean,
too

April 7 – Pray for upcoming trips by Dean to Indiana and three mission trips
this summer: 2 to Nicaragua in June and August and one to Guyana with Faith
Community Church.

April 8 – Pray for Merle and Dean as they finish up their trip to Africa and
visit with the Board of CrossWay Sudan in Nairobi. Pray for the registration
of CrossWay International as a non-profit, tax exempt organization in Kenya.

April 9 – Pray for Dean and Merle as they head back from Kenya to the USA.
Pray that our trip was a success and that many might have responded to the
gospel.

April 10 – Pray for Bob Nicol, as he will be in Ethiopia overseeing the
Medical Clinic in Meki and getting it in shape for approval by the Ethiopian
government. This Medical Clinic will be a strong magnet from which we can
evangelize in a town of 60,000 without any medical care.

April 11 – Pray for Bob Nicol as he visits the drought-stricken area of
eastern Kenya to determine where we need to drill some water wells and open
doors for Dean to return to teach and evangelize.

April 12 – Pray for our upcoming Board of Directors meeting on May 8 and the
new individuals joining our team. We are taking on 8 new Directors.

April 13 – Pray for the translation of some of our evangelistic materials
into Spanish for Central America and Swahili and Denka for Northeast Africa.

April 14 – Pray for the agricultural training going on in the village where
our 549 orphans live in Sudan (www.crosswayorphans.org) . We want this
village to get on its feet to look after these precious souls eventually
without help from us. Pray for Tabitha, the wife of Moses, as she may have
appendicitis instead of worms.

April 15 – Pray for Rafael Rivas, our new Candidate Field Director and his
needed support. He marries in mid May and is doing already a great work in
Nicaragua by setting up a pastors conference and evangelistic events for us
in June.

April 16 – Pray for our income-generating projects in the village in Sudan
near Darfur where our 549 orphans live. We have a pickup truck which earns
$800 a month and a grinding machine for sorghum which earns $50 a month
right now.

April 17 – Pray for Dean as he heads off to the Indianapolis area to meet
with and preach at a church of dear friends, the Baileys and Sollidays, who
have supported our orphans in substantial ways.

April 18 – Pray for Dean as he personally thanks this church and preaches
and challenges folks to walk by faith and not by sight.

April 19 – Pray for another income-generating project we hope to start in
the village where our orphans are: we want to buy sewing machines for the
ladies of the village to make clothes for the orphans and generate some
income and support for themselves.

April 20 – Pray for greater boldness for each of us to share their faith in
Christ. Write that email you have been holding back on to that person you
might befriend. Go ahead. Do it!

April 21 – Pray for more workers in God’s harvest as we continue our
exciting expansion into all the world to take the gospel of God’s matchless
grace!

April 22 – Pray specifically for Bruce McIntosh, Bob Nicol, Merle Admire,
and others as we look to God to raise up their support so they can more
fully serve in our ministry.

April 23 – Pray for Lawson Sampson and Malcolm Harris as we hope to expand
into western Africa to the countries of Nigeria and Liberia in 2011.

April 24 – Pray for more opportunities for Dean and each of us to share our
faith in Christ and the free gift of salvation.

April 25 – Pray for Dean as he preaches at Watermark church in Boerne. Pray
that hearts might be challenged.

April 26 – Pray for our new Communication Technician, Mark Seamans, as he
helps us with several issues with the internet and phone system. Pray too
for his daughter, Madison, who struggles with some eye issues.

April 27 – Pray for the clarity of the gospel and that each of us might
communicate clearly that it is only by grace alone, through faith alone, in
Christ alone who died for our sins and rose from the dead.

April 28 – A special personal prayer request: Please pray for Dean and
Joan’s grandson, Aaron, who suffers from autism and recently went to a
treatment center in California (C.A.R.D.) and had some good results. But
they still have some real serious issues to face.

April 29 – Pray for those who take the gospel into harm’s way and for their
safety.

April 30 – Pray right now for someone you might share the gospel with and
how you might take concrete steps to befriend them.

Prayer Calendar for Dean and Joan Chollar and team at CrossWay International
March 2010

March 1 – Please pray for continued growth at CrossWay International, and
also for the 7 new Candidate Missionaries who have applied and are in the
process of lining up prayer partners to undergird their efforts.

March 2 – Please pray for the 7 new Directors who will be coming on our
Board of Directors at our next Board meeting. We are blessed to have such
gifted individuals.

March 3 – Pray for several key meetings that Dean will have concerning the
needed support for our drilling equipment we hope to purchase and ship to
Kenya. This drilling rig will enable us to do far more and at much better
prices.

March 4 – Pray for Dean and Bob Nicol as they challenge the youth at San
Antonio Christian School in Chapel. We have seen many youth rise up to help
the 549 orphans in Sudan that are under our care.

March 5 – Pray that a matching grant for $8,000 will be met so we can move
forward on the order and purchase of the drilling rig mentioned above. We
have until March 31 to match this gift.

March 6 – Pray for more workers in God’s Harvest and for such men as Rafael
Rivas in Nicaragua and Melaku Abebe in Ethiopia who serve at different
capacities as Field Directors.

March 7 – Pray for Dean’s travel plans, as he will be in Kenya in part of
March and April, Nicaragua in June, Guyana in June and July, and back again
to Nicaragua in August.

March 8 — Pray for greater boldness for each one of us to share our faith
in Christ and that we would not be ashamed of the Gospel of God.

March 9 – Pray for the completion of the Medical Clinic in Meki, Ethiopia
and that we might get it up and running soon.

March 10 – Pray for our 549 orphans in Sudan near Darfur and for their
safety and health. We sent meds in recently to treat their severe coughing.

March 11 – Pray for our USA staff and send up a prayer of appreciation for
all their hard and faithful work to keep things moving forward.

March 12 – Pray for more opportunities for Dean and each one of us to share
our faith in Christ and not to overlook the obvious.

March 13 – Pray for Dean as he leaves for the West Palm Beach area to visit
and speak at one of his supporting churches.

March 14- Pray for Dean as he speaks at church and then heads up to Orlando
by bus.

March 15 – Pray for Dean as he flies back to San Antonio.

March 16 – Pray for the clarity of the gospel, that each one of us would
make clear to others that our salvation is an absolute free gift from God by
faith in Christ alone.

March 17 – Pray for Dean as he prepares some new publications (booklet on
eternal security, evangelistic cards to use on mission trips, etc.)

March 18 – Pray a prayer of thanksgiving for Brian Bond, our computer
technician and soon to be Director, as he keeps our 7 computers networked
and running smoothly.

March 19 – Pray for Ken Gatithi our Director of CrossWay Sudan as he lines
up flights within Africa and looks into various other tasks. He lives in
Nairobi and plays an important role in many ways.

March 20 – Pray for the safety of those who travel into harm’s way to take
the gospel of light to others.

March 21 – Pray for my friend, Mike Harkrider, and his recovery from his
recent neck surgery.

March 22 – Pray for several Christian Schools making arrangements to help
the orphans by various projects they hope to develop.

March 23- Pray for the spreading of the gospel, that it might spread quickly
and be honored even as it is among us.

March 24 - Pray for those who have kids with autism and learning
difficulties as this places a tremendous load on the parents. I heard on the
radio recently that one state in the USA has 2 out of 100 boys born
diagnosed with autism. Pray that the scientists figure out the cause and
treatment.

March 25 – Please pray for Merle Admire as he takes steps to join CrossWay
International. He will have taken a week long course in how to repair water
pumps. He is a Master Electrician by trade but has transferable skills and
a huge heart for the Lord.

March 26 – Pray for our CrossWay Coffee Ministry as it helps provide food
for the orphans through its revenues.

March 27 – Pray for the Agricultural training going on right now in the
village where the orphans live. We are determined to not create a syndrome
of dependency and give them the tools and training to provide for
themselves.

March 28 – Pray for each other and especially our hearts, that God would
break them and help us all stay focused on eternal issues.

March 29 – Pray for someone you know who needs Christ and make concrete
steps to reach out to them.

March 30 – Pray for Dean and Bob Nicol as they head over to Kenya. Dean
will be teaching at a pastors’ conference and visiting with the CrossWay
Sudan Board of Directors. Bob, our Engineer, will be working on the details
of shipping over our drilling rig and lining up teams to run it.

March 31 – Pray for Dean and Bob as they fly into Nairobi. Dean will be
having a Board meeting with the CrossWay Sudan Board and lining up our
non-profit status with the country of Kenya.

www.gocrossway.org

February 1- Pray for Dean as he speaks in the chapel of Grace Preparatory
Academy in Arlington, Texas. He will be challenging the young people to help
us look after orphans in their distress and to consider missions for the
future.

February 2- Pray for Dean as he continues to learn and get a handle on the
new software and equipment for the blind. He is making good progress but has
a ways to go.

February 3 – Pray for Dean’s upcoming trip to Kenya to teach and preach in a
location where we have installed a well in the Mombasa area.

February 4- Joan returns from Montana after assisting our oldest daughter,
Rachel and our 4 granddaughters get settled back home in Malta, Montana.
Please pray for Rachel as she will be on her own with the two new babies
(Grace and Hope) and her older ones. This will be quite a challenge and
adjustment for all.

February 5 – Pray for boldness for each of us as God gives us opportunity to
share the mystery of the gospel for which we are His ambassadors.

February 6 – Pray for the safety and well being of our 549 orphans in Sudan.
5 of them came down with a really bad cough and we need to get meds into
this area quickly.

concerning their many prayers and generous support for our orphans and
water well drilling ministries.

February 8 – Pray for our staff in the USA, (Joan, our office manager;
with CrossWay International and the work ahead of him for this transition
from his present work as a Master Electrician.

February 11 – Pray for the others who are looking to the Lord to become
missionaries with CrossWay International: Bob Nicol, Pam Palmer, and others
who are on our list. Pray also for Mike Harkrider, a good friend, who is

February 12 – Pray for more laborers for God’s harvest and that He will

February 13 – Pray for more opportunities to share our faith in Christ with
those we come in contact with.

February 14 – Pray for that special person in your life on the special day
of Valentines.

February 15 – Pray for the special proposal we hope to get out to various
groups to help us with the acquisition of a drilling rig and ministry for
northeast Africa. This will be a huge challenge, as it will cost around
$60,000 to get started but will allow us to do much more.

February 16 – Pray for the members of the newly formed committee in the
village where the orphans reside. They will assume oversight of the work and
finances.

February 17 – Pray for the training in the area of farming being set up in
the village in Sudan that will enable the village to get more on its feet to
provide more and more for the orphans needs.

February 18 – Pray for Dean’s upcoming mission trips scheduled for the
summer to the countries of Nicaragua and Guyana.

February 19 – Pray for the new 8 Directors being added to the USA Board of
Directors. This will bring the total of men to 13 who will provide
oversight and advice to our growing ministry.

February 20 – Pray for more sponsors for our orphans in Sudan and that many
more will sign up to help us look after their needs in this time of
distress. (See www.crosswayorphans.org)

February 21 – Pray for Melaku Abebe in Ethiopia as he finishes up the
remaining work so we can have our Medical Clinic in Meki registered and
approved.

February 22 – Pray for the clear presentation of the gospel and that
believers would proclaim the gospel of grace with confidence.

February 23 — Pray for our growing number of overseas coworkers and
Directors of a number of overseas Boards that assist us in the oversight and
effective running of our ministries.

swiftly and be honored even as it is among us.

February 25 – Pray for Rafael Rivas, our coworker in Nicaragua and his
prayer and support needs in Nicaragua.

February 26 – Pray for Lawson Sampson in Nigeria and Malcolm Harris in
Liberia as we hope to expand out ministry to this part of West Africa as God
leads and provides.

February 27 – Pray for the safety of those who bring God’s message of grace
to areas that are hostile to the gospel, and for God’s leading as he gives
direction to us for some of these kinds of countries.

February 28 – Stop right now and pray for several that you know who need
Christ in their lives.

January 2010
www.gocrossway.org

Dean and Joan and our staff, both here in the USA and overseas, want to wish
you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

January 1 – Pray for the upcoming year of 2010 and that we might all be more
devoted to the Lord and His work.

January 2 – Pray for our 549 orphans in Sudan and especially for the clothes
they need, as they only have what is on their backs. We are hoping to buy
some clothes soon for them if we can get a good price in the area where they
live. Also, milk cows and milk goats.

January 3- Pray for our staff in the USA as we settle into our routine of
defining roles and work assignments.

January 4- Pray for greater courage and boldness as each of us has the
opportunity to share the gospel of God’s grace.

January 5 – Pray for Dr. Isaiah Dau and Mr. Ken Gatithi as they travel from
Nairobi, Kenya into Sudan to check on the orphans and their needs. This will
be a great help as they know the culture and Isaiah speaks Denka.

January 6- Pray for the decisions concerning the management team and
coworker’s job descriptions in Sudan who look after the orphans. Isaiah and
Ken will be making recommendations of how best to restructure some of the
oversight in this ministry.

January 7 – Pray for Dean as he travels to Arizona to teach at a Youth
Retreat led by Allen Mann.

January 8 - Pray for the youth in Arizona that their hearts will be open to
receive what Dean teaches at this Youth Retreat.

January 9 – Pray for Allen and Sheree Mann as they wrestle with certain
health concerns with their children. 3 of their children are adopted and
have concerns that they acquired from their birth mothers.

January 10- Pray for the ability to take on more coworkers to strengthen
various areas of our ministry.

January 11- Pray for the return travel of Dean from the Arizona area and
also for the return travel of Isaiah and Ken from their visit to oversee the
orphans in Sudan.

January 12 – Pray for Sherry Zule, our manager of the CrossWay Coffee
Ministry, as she develops this ministry which provides easily half of the
needed funds just to feed the orphans in Sudan. Pray that this ministry
might expand and grow, and that more churches might work with us to provide
even more help for these kids.

January 13 – Pray for more opportunities for each of us to share the gospel
of God’s grace this year of 2010.

January 14 – Pray for Dean as he lines up his speaking engagements for this
quarter and the next one. If you or your church would like Dean to come and
speak, please let him know. dean@gocrossway.org

January 15 – Pray for the 3 who have made application with CrossWay
International to become missionaries to various fields where God is already
working through us.

January 16 – Pray for the 9 men who are being invited to join our Board of
Directors and that this new infusion of gifted men might move us forward to
achieve all that God brings our way.

January 17 – Pray that as we move forward, that attention will be given to
the clarity of the gospel of God’s grace. By grace alone, through faith
alone, in Christ alone.

January 18 – Pray for Anna Ochoa, our Executive Assistant, as she assumes
more and more responsibility and important work in our ministry.

January 19 – Pray for the 8 to 10 members of those planning to go to
Nicaragua this June and for all the needed prayer and support for this
mission trip. Pray for Kyle Parsons, too, who is making plans to go to
Ethiopia for 6 weeks this summer.

January 20 – Pray for Robert Messier, our General Manager, who suffers from
a broken back he received in the Navy, and for his critical help in
overseeing aspects of our ministry.

January 21 – Pray for Dean as he speaks in the Chapel of San Antonio
Christians School and challenges the youth to see beyond themselves and
serve God with a pure heart.

January 22 – Pray for Rita Chapman, our accountant who is managing our
various accounts and keeping all our books updated and straight. Pray for
her son, too, who is looking for a job.

January 23 – Pray for the spreading of the gospel of God’s grace, that it
might spread swiftly and be honored even as it is among us.

January 24 – Pray for Bob Nicol, our Engineer who oversees and gives
direction for our well drilling. And pray for the possibility of acquiring
our own drilling rig to facilitate this ministry. Pray, too, for his
support needs, as he has worked on his own dime for most of this work.

January 25 – Pray for Merle Admire, our Master Electrician, who is praying
about his transition to part-time or full-time work with us to help oversee
various aspects of our ministry overseas.

January 26 – Pray for the safety of those bringing the gospel into more
unstable parts of the world.

January 27 – Pray for Dean and the learning curve he has to acquire certain
skills with new software and equipment designed for the blind.

January 28 – Pray for the many non-paid staff who keep our computers and
facilities in good working order. Brian Bond has sacrificially given us his
time and computing expertise as well as many others. Just to name a few
more: Ralph Stephenson, Bob Dibble, Bob Messier, and Rudy Nadler have taken
care of the building/grounds needs, Ronnie Brown and Merle Admire with the
electrical needs and John Pritchett and Dennis Sundin with firewood to keep
us warm. Say a special prayer of thanks for these gifted men and all they
do. And our Coffee Ambassadors are too many to mention!

January 29 – Pray for Dean as he travels to the Arlington, Texas area to
speak in a Chapel of a Christian School and challenge hearts.

January 30 – Pray for the lost whom God brings into your life. You may be
the one God wants to use to share his message of love and grace.

January 31- Pray for Dean as he preaches and challenges hearts in the area
of evangelism and discipleship.

Prayer Calendar for Dean and Joan Chollar with CrossWay International
December 2009
www.gocrossway.org

Note: Rachel, Dean and Joan’s oldest daughter, had twins last November 9.
Little Grace and Hope arrived and weighed around 5 and a half pounds each.
All is well.

Also, the anti-malarial meds made it to the orphans on November 24 after
many delays in trying to get it there.

December 1 – Pray for the orphans in Sudan and the medicine we sent in for
the outbreak of malaria. As of now, all looks like it is contained and the
orphans are recovering. A special thanks to those who order CrossWay
Coffee, as this provided the funds for this cost. Pray also for Sherry
Zule, who is the Manager for the CrossWay Coffee Ministry; she works very
hard for this purpose.

December 2 – Pray for the end-of-the-year support that normally is given in
December. We are facing quite a few daunting challenges to meet our ministry
needs to reach out to the lost and the down trodden.

December 3 – Pray for the completion of the Medical Clinic in Meki, Ethiopia
and the waste water system. Bob Nicol is overseeing this with our regional
Director, Melaku Abebe.

December 4 – Pray for the water well drilling in the area of Morogoro,
Tanzania which Bob Nicol is helping to oversee. This will serve as a water
source for a model farm with African Inland Mission in Tanzania headed by
Tony and Cathy Swanson.

December 5 – Pray for our Board of Directors meeting as we consider taking
on more Directors, Managers, and Missionaries. This will represent a
substantial expansion of our ministry outreach to the lost.

December 6 – Pray for greater boldness as each one of us has more
opportunities during the Christmas holidays to share our faith with friends
and family.

December 7 – Pray for more faithful workers in God’s harvest, and thank God
for the coworkers He has brought our way. We are truly blessed to have so
many with a high level of integrity.

December 8 – Pray for Dean as he upgrades his software for the blind. He
will be all day in a training session at Light House for the Blind and
learning several new programs with various electronic devices.

December 9 – Pray for the many workers caring for the 549 orphans in Sudan
and for their health needs, as many suffer from a poor diet. Pray for
Charles Kimolo, who we plan to send in this January to train people in the
area of agriculture farming.

December 10 – Pray for a closer walk with God for each one of us. May we
never take for granted not only the gifts from God but for God Himself and
how we can do nothing apart from Him.

December 11 – Pray for Lawson Sampson in Nigeria and the church we helped to
start in Badagry, Nigeria. Pray too for his evangelistic outreach through
his soccer team and the drilling of several wells.

December 12 – Pray for Isaiah Dau and Ken Gatithi, two of our Directors of
the CrossWay Sudan ministry, as they make plans to visit our ministry in
Sudan and assess the needs and oversee the work.

December 13 – Pray for Dean as he preaches at a church in Boerne and
challenges the hearts of people to turn their hearts to the Lord and the
down trodden.

December 14 – Pray for our planning to go to Guyana this coming summer and
strengthen the church in that area led by John Persaud and Michael Williams.
Steve Bond and Dean will be leading a large group of members from a church
in the Maryland area.

December 15 – Pray also for a group of believers from Arizona and Maryland
going to Nicaragua this summer. These short term mission trips with larger
numbers of believers are something new for us, and it is requiring a lot of
planning and stretching.

December 16 – Pray for those applying to be missionaries with CrossWay
International and their support needs. We have some 3 to 4 individuals
applying in the USA alone and another 3 or 4 foreign missionaries.

December 17 – Pray for Dean’s work load and travels as he hopes to cut back
some and delegate some of his work to those joining the team. We have a
great staff now that takes a huge load off of him, but he needs more help
out in the field.

December 18 – Pray for Bob Nicol as he assumes more and more oversight of
the water well ministry and develops his skill in evangelism.

December 19 – Pray for more opportunities for each one of us to share the
gospel of God’s grace with those we come in contact with.

December 20 – Pray for Malcolm Harris in Liberia and his ministry. He is
one of our contacts and we hope to be more engaged with him and the outreach
in Liberia. Pray that we might be able to drill some water wells in Liberia
soon.

December 21 – Pray for Rafa and Oscar in Nicaragua and the ministry we hope
to strengthen and for the possibility of a closer working relationship with
them.

December 22 – Pray for various medical needs in our clinics and for a good
working relationship with those doctors in Ethiopia and Sudan.

December 23 – Pray for the many non-paid coworkers who care for the
renovation, electrical and computing needs at CrossWay International. They
play a huge role in their sacrificial giving and support to our ministry.

December 24 – Pray for Dean and Joan’s whole family as all four kids,
spouses, and all 12 grandkids will be coming to their home for 10 days or
so. This will be 22 people at their home during the Christmas holidays!

December 25 – Pray for the unbelievers in your family, and that they may
truly understand the meaning of Christmas and the free gift offered to each
one who will put their trust in Christ alone.

December 26 – Pray for Dean as he moves to new software that is better for
those with total blindness. He will be on a huge learning curve as he adapts
to a number of new applications and electronic devices.

December 27 – Pray for a youth retreat that Dean will teach at in Arizona,
led by Allen Mann. Pray that the youth will respond to the gospel and
teaching.

December 28 – Pray that each of us would be very clear in sharing the gospel
of God’s grace and make clear that salvation is not by works or reforming
our life but rather that it is an absolute free gift through faith in Christ
alone.

December 29 – Pray for those who take the gospel into harm’s way. Charles
Kimolo, one of our coworkers coming back from the village where our orphans
are in Sudan, was involved in a fire fight with gangs who attacked his bus
and killed 3 people.

December 30 – Pray for the spreading of the gospel, that it would spread
swiftly and be honored even as it is among us.

December 31 – Stop right now and pray for one or two people you have in your
circle of contacts and pray for their salvation.

Prayer Calendar for Dean and Joan Chollar with CrossWay International
November 2009
www.gocrossway.org

One quick note: Gold is up in price so if you have any gold jewelry laying
around gathering dust, send it to us, and we can have it processed and
exchanged for funds to help our orphans in Sudan. Green Bull Jewelry in
Boerne is our contact for this but mail it to:
CrossWay International
14 Fabra Oaks Road
Boerne, TX 78006

November 1 – Pray for a new special project of Coffee Gift Baskets that we
hope to make available for Thanksgiving and Christmas and special occasions.
The proceeds will go to underwrite our ongoing challenges to feed the 549
orphans near Darfur, Sudan, etc. (We hope to have something up on the
internet soon at www.crosswaycoffee.org. For info on the orphans, go to
www.crosswayorphans.org)

November 2 – Pray for an invitation for Dean to return to Pakistan again.
He has received several invitations but needs more help with other areas of
the world and is really stretched if he goes.

November 3 – Pray for 4 positions opening up with CrossWay International
which will enable Dean to develop and maintain other areas for evangelism.
The harvest is great but the laborers are few. (Luke 10:2) And right now we
have 3 very promising candidates.

November 4 – Pray for the staff at CrossWay International as we handle our
very heavy seasonal workload (prayer letter, website updates, travel plans,
etc.).

November 5 – Pray for Dean as he starts his mission trip to both Kenya and
Tanzania. He will be teaching at a pastor’s conference during this trip
among a number of other things.

November 6 – Pray for Dean and Bob Nicol, that the Lord will protect them
from mosquitoes and the dreaded malaria when they travel to Tanzania.

November 7 – Pray for Dean as he meets with several on the Board of
Directors for our ministry in Sudan who live in Nairobi, Kenya.

November 8 – Pray for Dean as he preaches in a church in Kenya this morning
and then heads off to Tanzania later that day.

November 9 – 13 – Pray for Dean as he starts his preaching at a Pastors
Conference in Tanzania with Tony Swanson who is with African Inland Mission
(AIM). We will also be drilling a water well for this Christian community.
Pray for Bob Nicol, too, who will be coming on Nov. 10 to help oversee this
work and teach on hygiene.

November 14 Pray for Dean as he returns to Nairobi, Kenya from Tanzania.

November 15 – Pray for Dean again as he preaches in a church in Kenya.

November 16- If you happen to be awake at 12:25 AM, Dean starts his trip
back home to the USA. Of course, 12:25 AM in Kenya is 6:25 AM Eastern Time
in the USA. So you better be up and working!

November 17 – Pray for Dean as he recovers from jet lag and gets back to
work on a number of critical projects.

November 18 – Pray for our CrossWay Coffee Ministry and Sherry Zule, our
manager over this work. We continue to see growing interest and orders.
All proceeds above the production costs go right now to the driving needs of
the 549 orphans in Sudan.

November 19 – Pray for Robert Messier, our new General Manager, who is
assisting Dean in many areas. One area for prayer is the lining up of short
term mission trips to Ethiopia, Guyana, and Nicaragua this late
spring/summer.

November 20 – Pray for greater boldness on all our parts to share the Gospel
of God’s grace to those we come in contact with on a regular basis. Stop now
and pray.

November 21 – Pray for Dean as he travels to Nebraska to challenge folks to
help us with the care of the 549 orphans in Sudan near the Darfur region. We
are still facing some real challenges, as we need more huts and the
renovation of the large church hut where many of the orphans sleep.

November 22 – Pray for Dean as he speaks to several groups in Nebraska who
have an interest in helping us with the 549 orphans in Sudan.

November 23 – Pray for Dean as he travels back to Texas from Nebraska, and
that he might have many opportunities to share the gospel. While you are at
it, pray for your own opportunities to do the same.

November 24 – - Pray for the clarity of the Gospel, that we as believers
will communicate in basic street language that unbelievers can understand.

November 25 – Pray for Dean’s 4 children as they each struggle with typical
young couple and children issues. Pray especially for our son who has the
autistic child, as this puts tremendous pressure and financial costs on
them.

November 26 – Pray for Dean and Joan’s oldest daughter, too, who is pregnant
with twins. She is expecting twin girls in December and already has two
little girls (3 and 5 years old).

November 27 – Pray for their youngest son, too, who is a pilot instructor
with the Air Force with all of its pressures.

November 28 – And while you are at it, pray for their youngest daughter who
has 2 really small little ones and for the new business that her husband is
starting.

November 29 – Pray for Dean and Robert Messier as they go to a church in the
Boerne area to preach and present the work of our ministry.

November 30 – Pray for the spreading of the gospel, that it would spread
swiftly and be honored even as it is among you.
