God has led CrossWay International to establish projects that help those in desperate physical situations. We have been able to gain a hearing for the gospel through the following critical aid projects:
African Water Wells – Sudan, Rwanda, Ethiopia
Throughout Africa, people suffer from water-borne diseases that come from drinking contaminated water. To reduce the need for medication to treat these ailments, water wells provide clean water, sometimes for the first time in many people’s lives. One well generally costs $10,000 to $20,000, depending on the depth of the well and the remoteness of the location. CrossWay has drilled wells in Sudan and hopes to drill more in Rwanda and Ethiopia. The wells serve as a springboard to share Christ with people, the true Living Water. CrossWay also plans to drill a well 120 km north of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in a strongly anti-Christian and impoverished area.
Needy Kids
For several years, CrossWay International was the primary caretaker for 549 orphans in Sudan, near the region of Darfur. These children had become orphans through the violence occurring in the region, and they were “dumped” on a village with no means of support. Through the generous donations of our prayer partners, our ministry was able to feed, clothe, and provide care for these orphans. We are happy to report that the orphans were adopted by many of the villagers, which was our hope from the beginning. Now that these orphans have found families and care, we are turning our attention to other needy children and orphans in underprivileged countries. As you can imagine, there is no shortage of the hurting and needy in third-world nations, and many times the children are the most helpless. Check out our new website for more information on our needy kids in Kenya, Liberia, and Ethiopia, and how you can help! www.gocrosswaykids.org
CrossWay’s Water Well Drilling Ministry
Although CrossWay International has been involved in the drilling of many water wells in underprivileged countries, we have now developed a new ministry with a new strategy for drilling water wells. Through God’s grace and the help of our generous prayer partners, we were able to fabricate our own drilling rig and ship it to Kenya. We have been able to drill more wells for less cost and in less time by having our own rig and materials overseas, and we are very excited about the possibilities of drilling even more wells for villages who don’t have clean water. Also, we were able to purchase an air hammer to allow us to dig through rock that covers the underground water in some of these countries.
All of these ministries provide us a hearing for the Gospel.
