CrossWay International has been asked to drill a water well, help care for children in poverty who scrounge for food and items in a garbage dump, and set up a Medical Clinic in Susuma, just outside of Matagalpa. Each of these ministry opportunities gives us a means of gaining a greater hearing for the gospel.
The people of Nicaragua are very open, caring, and warm. Most importantly, they are open to the truth of the Gospel…that salvation is a free gift from God, Jesus paid for it, and we don’t have to work for salvation. We see an openness in this country that is very promising.
In January this year, CrossWay returned to Nicaragua with a totally new approach. We went with eight people comprising three different teams. Dean and Pastors Joe and Allen from Ponderosa Baptist Church in Payson, AZ were conducting a Pastors’ Conference in Masaya, Nicaragua while Merle Admire went to check out potential well drilling sites and drill companies. Robert, Ann, Bruce McIntosh, and Pam Palmer (also from Ponderosa Baptist) went to Matagalpa for evangelism and VBS. It was challenging having eight different people going to three separate areas of the country, but our God is an awesome God and made everything work smoothly. A very special thank you to all of our Nicaraguan partners who set everything up for us and translated for us: Rafa, Francisco, Darling, and Jenny. Thank you so much for all your help, and may God richly bless you.
