It’s almost Harvest Time! |
The widows are celebrating and about to bring in their harvest! Praise the Lord! Moses says most of the widows were able to get about 60%-80% of what a “typical” harvest would be – but this is so much better than the almost non-existent crops because of the drought for the past 2 years! And perhaps even more worthy of celebration than that: These widows are excitedly planning on having a celebration service and collecting an offering from their harvest to share with some widows in another region of Kenya, where the rains did not fall as much as the Sagana region – and sending that gift with Moses to be delivered to them! This situation reminds me of 2 Corinthians 8 where Paul commends the Macedonian churches for their generosity, despite their trials and extreme poverty. We are praying that the generosity of God’s people around the world would catch people’s attention and be a sweet smelling fragrance, a light on a hill, drawing in those who are sincerely seeking after God! Thank you for being part of that chain of generosity! God has been so generous to us, hasn’t he? And what a joy to have the opportunity to be generous to others in their time of need! And how wonderful that this generosity is contagious! There are still plenty more who are in need – but we wanted to pause and just say a big THANK YOU to God and all of his children who, like him, are generous so that everyone would “have their daily bread!” I’m looking forward to sending some pictures and videos of that event later this month! Praise the Lord for His provision and the coming harvest! |
