It's almost Harvest Time!

The widows are celebrating and about to bring in their harvest! Praise the Lord!

Moses says most of the widows were able to get about 60%-80% of what a "typical" harvest would be - but this is so much better than the almost non-existent crops because of the drought for the past 2 years!

And perhaps even more worthy of celebration than that: These widows are excitedly planning on having a celebration service and collecting an offering from their harvest to share with some widows in another region of Kenya, where the rains did not fall as much as the Sagana region - and sending that gift with Moses to be delivered to them!

This situation reminds me of 2 Corinthians 8 where Paul commends the Macedonian churches for their generosity, despite their trials and extreme poverty. We are praying that the generosity of God's people around the world would catch people's attention and be a sweet smelling fragrance, a light on a hill, drawing in those who are sincerely seeking after God!  Thank you for being part of that chain of generosity!   God has been so generous to us, hasn't he?  And what a joy to have the opportunity to be generous to others in their time of need!  And how wonderful that this generosity is contagious!

There are still plenty more who are in need - but we wanted to pause and just say a big THANK YOU to God and all of his children who, like him, are generous so that everyone would "have their daily bread!" I'm looking forward to sending some pictures and videos of that event later this month!

  • Praise the Lord for His provision and the coming harvest!

Health Request, especially Moses' sister

Moses' sister, named Mercy, has just been admitted to the hospital with severe pneumonia, possible COVID and complications due to her diabetes.

Please pray for:

  • the health of all of our team members and their families

Thanks!

Water Project for "The Hilltop People"

Due to the financial stress of feeding the widows in Kenya, we had to pause our water project in Nicaragua among "The Hilltop People". Thankfully, we were able to get the tanks up the hill before the roads washed out.  Praise the Lord!

We are still working on door-to-door evangelism and discipleship with this local church as we wait for additional financing.

Pray for:

  • evangelism and discipleship efforts among "the Hilltop People"
  • financial provision for the next phases of the project

Soccer and Music as vehicles for Evangelism and Discipleship

Coworkers Pedro and Julio work with young disciples in the Hilltop Area

Kevin using Soccer as a vehicle for evangelism and discipleship

(Kevin's daughter in yellow looks like she is having fun shaking her hair around!)

Sports and Music are two great excuses to train and disciple young people, and our team in Nicaragua is hard at work helping to raise the next generation of church leaders.

Kevin's Teeth

Kevin Aguilar has some dental work coming up, including a couple of root canals, "endodoncias" as they are called there.

Please pray:

  • that God would provide the funds. The bill is almost $600 which is about double what most Nicaraguans make in a month
  • for skill and success of the medical/dental professionals
  • for speedy healing
  • possible chances to share the gospel with the dentist and his staff

Thanks!
