July 2009 Prayer Calendar

Prayer Calendar for Dean and Joan Chollar with CrossWay International
July 2009
www.gocrossway.org

July 1 – Pray for our newest website, www.crosswayorphans.org, and that many
might respond to the needs of our 499 orphans near the area of Darfur,
Sudan. We are being asked by the Commissioner in the area of Southern Sudan
to consider taking 200 more orphans, but we are not able to do this at this
time.

July 2 – Pray for our manager over these orphans, Moses Aguer Bol, as he
suffers from screw worms and may need surgery to remove them from his
stomach. He has suffered many years with this, and it is hindering his
oversight and care of our 499 orphans.

July 3  - Pray that the little ones would not be hindered in coming to
Christ but that we would have a tender heart for these little orphans (as we
read in James 1:27 and Matt. 19:14).

July 4 – Pray for Joan as she leaves for the Orlando area to visit our
daughter and newest grandson, Eli. She handles a lot in our office, so pray
that we don’t collapse without her!  She will be gone until July 11.

July 5 – Pray for Dean as he preaches at First Baptist Church in Boerne and
challenges the believers to look deep in their heart before God and to draw
near to Him in all ways.

July 6 – Pray for Ashley Courtney, Dean’s personal assistant, who will be
going on a youth retreat from July 6 through 10 to Grand Lake, Colorado. She
carries a heavy load as the wife of a youth pastor and working almost
full-time here at CrossWay International.

July 7 – Pray for Rachel and Jeremy Beasley, as Jeremy is stationed up in
Montana with his work while Rachel and her two little girls reside at our
home during her difficult pregnancy with twins.

July  8 – Pray for our many Coffee Ambassadors who work within churches and
their place of work to promote orders for coffee from our new CrossWay
Coffee Ministry. If you are interested in becoming one of our valued Coffee
Ambassadors, please email me by hitting reply to this email.  Right now, all
proceeds from our CrossWay Coffee Ministry is supplementing the costs of
feeding and caring of our orphans in Sudan.

July  9 – Pray for Robert Messier and Sherry Zule who oversee the CrossWay
Coffee Ministry.  They play the key roles in serving in this ministry area
that is bringing around $1,000 a month for the feeding and care of our 499
orphans.

July 10 – Pray for Dean and Robert as they make plans to go to Nicaragua and
minister there the last week of August.

July 11 – Pray for Melaku Abebe in Ethiopia as he oversees the school we
started, house churches, and the development and completion of the medical
center in Meki, Ethiopia.

July 12 – Pray for Dean as he visits and preaches at NW Community Church and
enjoys a time of fellowship and thanksgiving for all their past support and
partnership in our ministry together.

July 13 – Pray for Trevor Smothers who is our missionary in Ethiopia and
will be coming home after a 2 month mission trip. Pray that his work might
continue after he leaves.

July 14 – Pray for Brian Bond, our computer technician as he gives much of
his time to our ministry. If you ever need work on your computer here in the
greater Boerne Hill Country area, his email address is: Brian Bond
(brian@bondcomputers.com)

July 15 – Pray for our military personnel around the world and the
opportunity that this gives Christians in the military to be a foreign
missionary at tax-payers’ expense. That’s one tax I don’t mind paying!

July 16 – Pray for Larry and Kristy Needham & Grant and Pam Jacobs as they
help to develop our ministry in their church to help with the care of the
orphans in Sudan.

July 17 – Pray for the men at Golfers on the Go who look after much of our
renovation of the mission cottage and storage building. They have played a
key role in keeping things moving forward.

July 18 – Pray for Rita, our accountant, and the many hard and complicated
questions we have.  We may need help in this area, so if you know of anyone
who can help answer some of these accounting-type questions, let us know.

July 19 – Pray for Dean and Joan’s grandson, Aaron, who suffers from autism
and especially their parents, Jason and Danica.  Aaron has a service dog now
named Bond. Pray that this dog might work out to bring some relief to their
needs.

July 20 – Pray for the 1455 individuals who came to Christ during Dean’s
last mission trip to Uganda and that they might be followed up with great
care.

July 21 – Pray that Dean and Robert might be able to share a few words at
the
Men’s Breakfast at First Baptist Boerne on this date.

July 22 – Pray for the completion and functionality of the water well in
Mombasa, Kenya that Bob Nicol, our Engineering Consultant, has been
overseeing.  Most wells we drill are quite deep, using older equipment, and
take a lot of time to drill, including the water tanks and distribution
systems.

July 23 – Pray for the CrossWay Christian School in Sudan that primarily
serves our 499 orphans in their village.  We have 10 teachers right now and
limited resources with only 425 Bibles, 5 black boards, and no other books
or school supplies.

July 24 – Pray for the other requests we have for water wells in Sudan,
Liberia, Tanzania, and Nigeria. It is amazing how many suffer without clean
and safe water.

July 25 – Pray for Malcolm Harris, a friend and coworker in Liberia. He was
robbed when he returned from Bible School in Ghana and is somewhat concerned
that it could happen easily again.  We are trying to line up a water well
drilling opportunity in his area.

July 26 – Pray for Dean as he speaks to the ladies at Betsy Loewens Sunday
School Class at First Baptist Church.

July 27 – Pray for Lawson Sampson and his ministry in Nigeria. We continue
to pray about his area, too, for a water well and an open door to share the
gospel.

July 28 – Pray for Trevor Smothers as he returns from his 2 month mission
trip to Ethiopia.  Pray that he comes back healthy and transitions quickly
back into the American culture in a positive way.

July 29 – Pray for our friends and contacts in Pakistan.  Dean hopes to
return again but is uncertain of the date.

July 30 – Pray for the Board of Directors for CrossWay International, both
here in the USA, as well as the Directors of other Boards set up by us in
different countries.

July 31 – Pray for greater boldness as we seek to find harvesters for God’s
field who might have opportunity to clearly share the gospel, the fact that
Christ has died for our sins and rose again.

May 09 Prayer Letter – Pregnancy and Childbirth

Pregnancy and childbirth have been on our minds lately in the Chollar family.  Our youngest daughter,
Bethany, was due any day with her second child, and we had just discovered that our oldest daughter,
Rachel, was also expecting.  So in that frame of mind, I prepared for a trip to Africa. Here’s how my own
“birth process” went….
