Nicaragua Blue Banner

In Nicaragua, most soccer leagues have many of their games during the time when churches are having their services, and are often being run by people who don’t attend church and don’t have the best reputation.  Because of this, it is common for many churches to label participation in ANY sports activity as “worldly”.

Our coworker Pedro saw this as an opportunity, an open door for outreach and discipleship!  So Pedro founded and now coordinates a new soccer league for youth in the “Hilltop Community”, – one that specifically does NOT have games during local church services!   In addition to avoiding scheduling conflicts with local church services, soccer team members are also encouraged to memorize verses each week.  They even have someone share their testimony and present the gospel before each game!

Satan hates to see all of this, and would love to cause division and strife.  Please pray with us that the Lord would accomplish great work for His Kingdom, through the vehicle of this soccer league!

Thanks for your prayers!
