Many of the widows and Sagana community members restrict themselves to mostly rice, beans and maize – the staple crops.  Vegetables have not traditionally been a major part of the local tribal diet. In the past, they were hard to come by and seen as a luxury. Today, even with the opportunity to grow them in their own gardens, many are unaware of their important health benefits.

As part of the CHE (Community Health Evangelism) training, Moses and Isaac were challenged to do a “seed project” to help their community.  As their first project, they gathered some of the local widows and community members for a nutrition seminar.  As you can see, it was well attended.  We hope that many of them choose to add vegetables to their gardens and farms – and their regular meals!

Also, in much the same way that we need to eat our veggies for our physical health, it is also essential for us to continually be reading and meditating on scripture in order to be healthy spiritually.  How is your “media diet” lately?  Does it include lots of scripture?

May the Lord help us ALL to grow both in our physical and spiritual health!
