Dear friends, will you pray with us for like-minded disciples among the Kenyans and Nicaraguans who share our vision and are committed to the hard work needed for change? There is so much need, and yet also so much untapped potential!

Will you pray that people don’t give in to despair, but instead become hungry to LEARN?

Then he said to his disciples,
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;
therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest
to send out laborers into his harvest.”
-Jesus in Matthew 9:37-38 (ESV)

Moses’ Miracle Harvest

The Problem: Kenya is historically fertile, allowing for two seasonal harvests each year. However, poor farming practices (like burning fields and deep tilling) have severely degraded the soil, making harvests extremely vulnerable to drought. This past season, an extreme, record-low drought hit the area, and most farmers harvested nothing.

The Solution: Moses was the exception. By practicing the healthy farming methods taught at “Foundations for Farming,” he achieved a full, healthy harvest despite the minimal rainfall. The key practice was mulching, which maximized the little rain that fell.

A Heart for Change: Moses’ abundant harvest is drawing attention, and he’s been hearing from neighbors who are struggling with hunger. While a generous gift of his crop would help immediately, the more lasting solution is to share the sustainable farming methods with them. Moses and Isaac are eager to teach, and we pray that Moses’ success will gently inspire his neighbors to overcome any feelings of despair or jealousy, fostering curiosity and a willingness to embrace a new path.

Your Prayers and Gifts are making a difference!

Moses and Isaac Training Farmers in Kwa’ Matini

Training is underway

God is already answering this prayer, one community at a time. Pictured here are 18 members of the Kwa’ Matini community who have come to learn this new way of farming.  This group was EAGER to learn and try these new methods.

Real Hope: Our coworkers in Kenya and Nicaragua are offering real hope. This is not a quick fix or perpetual aid, but the hope of eternal life in Jesus, which starts now and leads to transformation. Transformed Thinking: A renewed partnership with God. Restored Relationships: With God, self, one another, and all of creation (including the land they farm).

Looking ahead

We have outreach happening as we speak in both countries, and more planned!  This includes Jason and Melissa going in person to Nicaragua in April.  Please continue to pray that the Lord would raise up laborers all around the world.  May we ALL be found faithful, sharing the Gospel and making disciples, first in our own “Jerusalem” – as well as to the very ends of the earth!

Thank you!

Thank you SO MUCH for partnering with us for the sake of the Gospel.  It is an honor to serve alongside you all!
