Do you ever have trouble remembering things or memorizing bible verses? As a blind person, I have learned certain devices to help me that might also serve you well. Keep in mind, it’s much easier to memorize pictures than list of words.
For example, in 2 Tim. 3:16, we read of 4 descriptions of what Scripture wants to accomplish. But how do you remember the words and the order of these actions?
Consider this graphic created by my 16 year-old granddaughter, Alannah:

- As seen in the graphic, Picture in your mind a person’s footprints starting to walk on a path. This represents the initial teaching of Scripture and the first word on the list, teaching.
- Then picture the footprints going off the path which means the person needs rebuking, the second word on the list is rebuking.
- And after being rebuked, picture the correcting of the footprints of the man and the footprints heading back to the path. This is the third word, correcting.
- And lastly, picture the footprints back on the path as the person undergoes training in righteousness to be more consistent on staying on the path. So the fourth word is training.
I hope this will help you in memorizing this Bible verse.
Warmly in Christ,
-Dean
