On Monday and Tuesday of November 2 and 3rd, Hurricane Eta swept through Central America, and we are hoping to raise $3,000 in one time gifts, in order to give food to 70 needy families affected near our HQ in Laguna de Apoyo, Nicaragua.

Social unrest and blockades in recent years have hit the tourism industry hard, which used to be a big part of the local economy in the Laguna de Apoyo area, especially.  The global pandemic certainly didn’t help matters.  And now a hurricane on top of all of that has left some families who were already struggling having to choose between food and repairs to their little homes.

Our field director, Kevin Aguilar, has proposed that we put together 70 food packages with 2 weeks worth of rice, beans, chicken, soap, etc.  We are hoping to find partners to donate the $42 needed per package, almost $3,000 in total, to be able to help around 300 people in the area with a one time gift to help them get past this latest challenge.
