Melissa and I had a great visit to Belgium. An old friend, Benjamin Beunckens, who is currently serving as a deacon in the Evangelical Church in Kortessem, set up most of our arrangements, so a special thanks to him and his family!
I was able to show Melissa many of the places we used to live and serve, and introduce her to many old friends.
In addition to many informal connections, we were invited to a “kleine kring” – a small circle biblestudy and were invited to share some of the marriage material and did some interactive conversational exercises. The group was able to just do the entire meeting in English, no translation necessary. Only in Belgium!

On Sunday we were able to visit and share a short greeting at the Evangelical Church in Kortessem, which was planted by one of the churches we helped with, many years ago. I was invited to play electric guitar and sing harmonies along with the band during the singing time and enjoyed it thoroughly. Benjamin Beunckens preached the message that morning about marriage and the picture it shows us of God’s deep love for us.
It was great to make this stop on our way to Kenya and be able to reconnect with the many dear friends from our ministry in Belgium that started way back in 1986!
