Dear brothers and sisters, I’m excited to tell you about what is going on in Kenya, so we can praise the Lord together and to ask for your prayers as well!
Moses Gatura’s Health
Please Pray for Moses’ Health (and the rest of the team too)
Moses was quite sick this past weekend with an upper respiratory infection, with a 38.8C temp fever (=101.84F), chest pains, very dry cough. He was so sick that he had to go to the hospital. He has been treated and went home to rest. Pray for him especially for the busy week ahead as you are about to read!
Couples Conference
Please Pray for the Couples Conference in Kenya – by Kenyans!
Our team in Kenya, led by Moses, are holding their first “copules conference” of their own in Nanyuki, which is finishing up as we speak! Seven couples are signed up. Please pray that the truth from God’s word would soak in deeply, and that these marriages would be transformed to be a shining example of God’s work of love in our lives!
Bible Interpretation Seminar
Then, this Saturday, March 16th, they will be holding a seminar for area Pastors regarding:
“Interpreting and Preaching Epistles: Starting with Galatians”
Avocados for Widows
Avocado Tree Seedlings for Widows Project Update
Praise the Lord with us that:
- We found a source of “certified seeds” from the University
- Some of our local team are digging holes now for the most elderly widows who would struggle with this labor
- An agricultural specialist is scheduled to teach tips to our key widows to pass along to all of the rest
- We expect rain towards the end of the month, and plan to distribute the seedlings right at the beginning of the first rains for optimal growth potential!
- We have a new locally printed “gospel gift booklet” which we will be distributing and sharing with the widows. In addition to avocado seedlings, each widow will have the gospel shared, receive prayer – and be challenged to pass the gospel along to their family, friends, and neighbors!
Please pray:
- Pray for the Lord to provide the rest of the funds needed. We are still $7,125 short in funding in order to have enough for all 450+ widows. To find out more and join in to help us finish, please visit:https://gocrossway.org/avocados-for-widows/
